The beginning of this fall season has been exceptionally busy, both personally and professionally. I went out with my friends on a sailboat Sunday, captained by the lovely Becky. It’s really cool to see a woman literally take the reins (I guess not “literally,” but you know what I mean) and dominate the waters like that. It was a stunner of a day.
Anyway, is it just me, or do you absolutely LOVE sleeping on boats? It’s so heavenly and relaxing. So, I did that. It was amazing. Plus, the scenery in Frisco was incredible.
Tag and Bridger went with my in-laws to a memorial service for his uncle over the weekend. They had a nice time, considering. I had Sterling, who got a little sick (threw-up-out-the-car-window sick), and I woke up with it Monday. Not fun; threw up loads. But stayed in bed all day and felt better within 12 hours. Small wins.
Not so great of a win: I need to put those Invisalines on again. And a permanent retainer. Grrrr. But, hey, nice teeth are good.
I have a business planning event today to help me prep for next year. #planning
My Colorado Real Estate Activity
Unfortunately, I had to terminate on one of our offers (the Empire one) for my clients. There was way too much work to do, and it really wasn’t worth it. In this biz, you gotta roll with the punches.
But I had a closing on a friend’s house in Lakewood. From start to finish, the whole process was about three weeks! Those are the good ones. Closings are always bittersweet. It’s sometimes the end of a relationship (not in this case but sometimes). Others, though, it’s a budding friendship. Luckily, I’ve had a bunch of those.
I had an excellent walk-thru yesterday. The house is fancy, with tons of electrical things that needed to be described in detail. Funky mirrors with buttons, water softener systems, the works. It was kinda cool. The sellers were charming, and I truly enjoyed my clients. I got a free old-fashioned popcorn maker out of it!
I have some listings that have been postponed to next year, so I’m hoping this upcoming spring will be a good sellers' season. And, wow, we’re talking about spring. Crazy. It’ll be an election year, too, which means interest rates will likely go down. So, as a buyer, buy now. As a seller, wait till the end of March or the beginning of April.
