As we wrap up the holiday season and look ahead to the new year, I can’t help but reflect on what a whirlwind the past few weeks have been. Tag recently returned from Bali, where he had a transformational experience at a retreat—the same one I attended a year ago. While I can’t share all the details (some things are best kept sacred), it’s been incredible to see how much it’s inspired him. It’s also brought us closer, giving us a shared experience to discuss and new perspectives to explore together. Tag’s planning to dive even deeper by enrolling in the Coaching Apprentice Program (CAP) with Kute Blackson, just like I did. I’m so excited to see where this journey takes him as he works toward becoming a counselor and coach in the coming year.
Speaking of transformations, my holiday pie delivery was a huge success! This year, I delivered 50 or 60 pies to clients, which felt like spreading little pockets of joy all over town. Even better, thanks to the generosity of my amazing clients, we collected over 200 pounds of food and supply donations for the Mountain Resource Center. I’m beyond grateful for everyone who contributed. It was such a rewarding experience that I’m already planning to do it again next year—and I’m happy to swing by and pick up donations if you need a hand!
The holidays themselves were wonderfully full. We had a great dinner with old friends, and I took a bit of time off over Christmas. Well, sort of. Real estate never really sleeps, and I got a buyer under contract on Christmas Day! She wasn’t expecting to find her dream home, but sometimes the magic of the season delivers in unexpected ways. We’ve completed the inspection and are now waiting on radon and water test results. Fingers crossed for a smooth close. Another client of mine also went under contract on a piece of land, and a listing from earlier went under contract, so it’s been a productive season all around.
On the personal side, I’ve been diving into *The 12 Week Year* and can’t recommend it enough if you’re looking to shake up how you approach goals. I initially thought it was about cramming a whole year’s worth of work into 12 weeks (yikes!), but it’s really about focusing on shorter, more actionable timeframes. It’s perfect if committing to something for an entire year feels overwhelming. I’m excited to see how this system can help me stay productive in 2025.
Christmas was a food lover’s dream. We had an epic Christmas Eve dinner with friends—ham, potatoes, chocolate cake…you name it, we probably ate it. On Christmas Day, we headed to Tag’s grandma’s condo at Rocky Mountain Village in Evergreen. I helped her purchase that place, so it was extra special to celebrate there. We played a hilarious card-Bingo game, which brought out everyone’s competitive streak in the best way.
Our home has been full this season with family and guests, including my brother and his girlfriend, who’s visiting from Sweden. I’ve loved having a bustling house; there’s always someone to talk to or an activity to dive into. And even though the kids might be watching a bit too much TV (hey, it’s the holidays!), they’re also staying busy with other fun things. We’re gearing up for a skiing trip to Breckenridge on New Year’s Day—our way of kicking off 2025 with fresh mountain air and some family adventure.
I’ve also had some interesting professional connections pop up recently, including a call from a Swedish gentleman in Texas who’s looking to buy property in Colorado in the next few years. It’s funny how life works; since my brother and I are creating a real estate team, I’m thinking of having him assist with this client. It’s all part of our plan to grow and support each other’s businesses while ensuring top-notch service for our clients.
Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a year full of growth, travel, and new opportunities. In February, I’ll take a trip to Scotland with my mom so she can visit the place where she was born. Later, we’ll head to Sweden for my sister’s wedding and then down to Madeira in July. There’s also a wedding in Montana in April, a client’s wedding in Cabo, conventions in Las Vegas and Tampa, and a visit to Georgia to see my best friend, Sonny. Add to that my plans to take a mediation course through the National Association of Realtors to become an ombudsman, and you can see why I’m thrilled for what’s to come. I think my background in coaching and my ability to see both sides of a situation will make me a great fit for mediation work—plus, it’s always good to expand your skill set.
As I close out this post, I just want to say how grateful I am for the people and experiences that made this holiday season so special. Here’s to a new year filled with growth, connection, and plenty of exciting adventures. If you’re thinking about buying, selling, or just want to chat about the market (or life in general), you know where to find me. Cheers to 2025!
