Life: Missing Adam, Date Days, and a Much-Needed Pedicure

With Adam off in Sweden, the absence hit hard. Not just emotionally, but practically. When you’re used to having three adults under one roof, it’s like running a household with one leg suddenly tied behind your back. Between kid logistics, dinner duties, and everything in between, his support is very missed.

That said, I’ve learned something big: I’ve gotten a lot better at handling stress. I don’t like it any more than I used to, but I’ve built a sturdier inner scaffolding. I can feel the chaos without falling apart—and that’s progress.

Tag has been fully in caregiver mode for his grandma, which is working well alongside his Coaching Apprentice Program and school commitments. It’s been a juggle for him too, but we’re finding our rhythm, slowly but surely.

Since winter has overstayed its welcome (and baseball got canceled because of it—again), Sterling and I made the most of the extra time. We had a full-blown date day on Saturday: massages, mall wandering, Burger King, Costco, and even a trip to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. We wrapped it up with the Minecraft movie, which was better than expected and weirdly well-cast. I’m not saying it’s Oscar material, but I didn’t fall asleep—which is saying something.

Sunday was a work-meets-social kind of night. Tag and I had dinner with some long-time clients and a new referral they sent my way. It was fun, productive, and full of laughter—which, let’s be real, is my kind of business dinner.

And in a much-needed act of self-care, I met up with a friend-turned-client-turned-back-to-friend for a salon visit and finally got my toes done. It had been a minute—since February’s Girls’ Night Out, to be exact. No regrets.

Real Estate: Snowy Showings, Open House Ideas & Analysis Paralysis

Real estate this week was a mix of momentum and mental gymnastics. Friday, I spent the day with a buyer client touring homes in the snow (spring is a myth, apparently). We’ve got three solid contenders and will regroup once she’s back from a work trip. Fingers crossed.

I’ve got 3–4 new listings about to hit the market, so this week is all about photo shoots, planning, and prepping for showtime. One of them may get an Easter weekend open house, and I’m toying with a theme: Easter eggs or a bring-your-own-4-wheeler kind of event. There’s a ton of land, so why not lean into the fun? (Don’t worry—liability waivers will be involved.)

We’re closing on a property this Friday (yes!), and my best friend is coming into town for a visit (double yes!). On top of that, my mom is heading back because she’s thinking of moving here again. I recently toured some units at Heather Gardens, and honestly? It could be a perfect fit. The indoor pool alone is reason enough—it’s her top priority, and I’m totally onboard.

As for the market? It’s weird. No other word fits. One home might have 10 offers, while another sits for a year. Buyers and sellers alike need to manage expectations and understand that success often comes down to strategy, flexibility, and knowing what you really want.

And even though the unpredictability can be frustrating, I feel energized. This market forces us to be creative problem solvers. You have to think outside the box to thrive right now—and as my Team Leader Rachel said at our meeting this week (shoutout!): that’s one of my strengths. Hearing her say that out loud was honestly one of the best compliments I’ve gotten in a while.

Now, if I could just apply that same energy to my website and systems... I'm in a bit of analysis paralysis at the moment. If I can gain some clarity there this week, that’ll be a huge win.

Until then, I’ll keep showing up focused and forward-thinking. Because in real estate—and in life—it’s not about having every answer right away. It’s about staying proactive, adaptable, and always ready to take the next step.
