Personal Update: Sunburns, Shoes, and Small Wins

This week, I survived the time change without too much struggle, but I still think we should collectively agree to stop doing this. The extra daylight is nice, but I’d trade it for a consistent sleep schedule any day.

I also made my grand return to CrossFit after a two-month break. It was intense, but I didn’t lose as much strength as I expected, which was a nice surprise. Speaking of surprises, I attempted to make garlic naan for the first time to go with my brother’s incredible Indian curry. The good news? It looked legit. The bad news? It tasted... fine. We’ll call it a learning experience.

Bridger kicked off baseball season, scoring 33% of his team’s runs (which was a grand total of two). They didn’t win, but he made some solid plays, and I walked away with a sunburn that only covered half my body and one ear—so that’s a memory.

The kids and I also discovered a fantastic pizza spot, Ignazio’s Kitchen in Lakewood. The waiter gave me a rose, Bridger some football trading cards, and Sterling a Where’s Waldo book. Solid customer service, 10/10 would recommend. After dinner, we went shoe shopping at Dick’s Sporting Goods, where I had a moment of financial shock. When did kids' shoes become an investment? Also, since when do boys care this much about fashion?

On the personal growth side, I’ve started journaling again, and it’s been really helpful. I still need to get back into my meditation routine, but one step at a time.

Looking ahead, my mom is visiting for spring break, and Sterling is turning 9! He’s requested seafood for his birthday dinner—anywhere but Red Lobster, which I fully support.

Real Estate Update: A Market in Motion

The real estate world was just as eventful as my personal life this week. I started each morning at 5:15 AM with my mastermind call, which has been keeping me motivated and focused. I also got three buyers under contract, launched a new listing, and closed on land in Elbert County.

One of the biggest surprises? A home inspection that wasn’t a nightmare. Normally, inspections come with a laundry list of minor issues and at least one or two major concerns. But this house? Solid. I have two more inspections coming up, and I’d love for them to be just as smooth—fingers crossed.

Meanwhile, Tag made an emergency trip to Florida to install a new garage door opener and check on our house there. We lowered the price by $10K, but we’re still waiting for the right buyer. Unfortunately, our lovely neighbors seem committed to their collection of broken-down cars, which isn’t helping the curb appeal.

The market itself is shifting. Homes that are priced right and show well are selling quickly. If they miss the mark? They’re sitting. We’re in a strange in-between phase where sellers are finally adjusting to higher interest rates, but demand is still unpredictable. Inventory levels are up, and while that gives buyers more choices, it also means homes need to be positioned strategically to sell.

This weekend, I’ll be checking out a cabin to sell, meeting a new buyer, and sneaking in some time on the slopes in Breckenridge. Not a bad way to wrap up a full, busy week.

How was your week? Drop a comment below—I’d love to hear! 🚀
