Helllloooo, from Sevilla! We just arrived after an 18-hour ferry ride to Barcelona and a 6 hour train ride from there. Barcelona was cool and definitely worth more than a quick overnight but we have places to be and unfortunately had to cut Barcelona short. It was giving New Orleans vibes, if I’m honest, and super clean. And it seems to be relatively low on tourists, which is nice considering the craziness we just endured. From what we saw it looks like a super cool city and I can’t wait to come back.
We ended our sailing trip with my dad and sister, but that was a real highlight. Although the captain was a bit… eccentric, he apparently had a thing for my sister and, while funny now, was kind of creepy during. I mean, we were stuck on a boat with him for days. The heat wasn’t helping. However, tolerance for discomfort is getting better for all of us. Is that good? I don't know. But there’s less complaining going on, so I’ll take it.
Rome was scorching hot, but we still took a full-on history tour: We visited the Vatican, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica and took a double-decker bus tour. It was really cool to see all that. Overall, it’s just been an amazing experience. Oh, and Pompeii was stunning. It was Bridger’s favorite stop (but he’s ready for some cooler weather).
We’ve definitely learned a ton of interesting history about the areas we’ve visited, including their politics and religion. Even the kids have enjoyed learning about it all.
Anyway, for an early birthday, we went to a little restaurant near the Colosseum. My dad gifted me, from my grandmother, a necklace he found in Grand Central Station 40 years ago that he had gifted to her. It’s silver with amethyst and apparently made by a Mexican artist. Both the food and gifts were very impressive. Actually, the food in Italy has been fantastic but outside Pompeii we had the absolute best pizza of my life. It was enormous, inexpensive, and delicious!
My Colorado Real Estate Activity
Things are progressing well on all my current listings and transactions. We just lowered the price of my Pine listing, which is fine. And I got a lead for a new listing in Kings Valley, so I’m going to get on that today.
All in all, things are great with work and with Italy. Off to explore, so I’ll see you here next week where I’ll be coming at you from Madeira, Portugal!
