Home, Vegan, and Reading About Hell’s Angel

We’re back from our fabulous trip to Sweden, and it’s been busy as ever. Bridger’s football is starting, and I have seriously never seen anything so disorganized. And that’s saying a lot because I’ve seen some pretty big organizational disasters. I have no clue when anything is going on, and I’m not getting responses. Is it me, or is it almost impossible to keep track of everything?

The kids are going to camp tomorrow and they are taking them to a Rocky’s game which is awesome. What’s not awesome; they can only bring soft bags and lunch boxes with one pocket. What the hell is that? It’s bad enough I have to make them lunch, but now I have to stress about what I put it in. There are rules to follow for everything, apparently.

Fall baseball is also starting soon. It’s gonna be a lot. And it’s just Bridger at this point doing all the stuff. Once Sterling starts too- forget about it. Where do I sign off?

Okay, I’m gonna walk 10,000 steps every day. I’ve already started and have done it for the past 10 days. It’s actually pretty awesome and easier than you’d think. I’m doing it while I’m on the phone, which is excellent- two birds, one stone, and all that.

I’m also trying to go vegan and am on day four. But I’d still eat small amounts of wild game if Tag brings something home from his hunting/ fishing expeditions. I’ve always been pretty health conscious (except for my massive sweet tooth) and intend to be a healthy old person who can fully enjoy life. Decrepit is not in my wheelhouse. So, let’s see how it all goes. You all know I love trying new stuff. I know it’s only been four days, but I’m not really missing too much, and I’m feeling a bit more focused.

And, yes! We closed on our condo on Tuesday! We’re doing a 1031 exchange with the new Florida property today, and all should go according to plan. The appraisal for the FL home came in low, so we’re actually getting it for less than we anticipated. How great is that?! It’s about a $50K difference! Plus, we’re getting a new a/c unit, thank you very much. My mom is going to take possession and be there to help us get it all together. Exciting stuff.

Okay, how important are sheets and mattresses to you? To me, they’re everything. So, we’re looking for some seriously great sheets to fit our amazing Sealy Hybrid beds. I’m going for some hotel-grade sheets. Nothing but the best for our Airbnb people. We have some good ones, but please let me know if you have a recommendation. I’ll take all your AirBnB recommendations.

We also bought some of the furniture from the stager. So, I mean, this is all actually happening. Can you believe it? What? As of Friday we will own a house in Florida! Ahhhh!

Book Club

I started listening to Hunter S. Thompson’s book about Hell’s Angels called Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. It’s pretty nuts. The writing is very intense. If you’re up for something adventurous, check it out.

Colorado Real Estate Activity

I had a listing appointment yesterday that went well. And I’ve heard back from a listing appointment I had just before we left for Sweden, and they just hired me, so I’m thrilled. It’s a great property! I think I got the other listing I looked at before we left, too, but he’s holding off for a month due to work stuff.

Remember the listing that needed a new survey to determine boundaries and see whether the well was on the correct property? Well, it is! Phew! That’s all I can say.

Reports say inflation is high, so interest rates will likely go up. Seasonal depreciation is happening, that’s normal, but it’s been accelerated by the economic uncertainty. Normally, we wouldn’t have seen this dip in activity so soon. Sign of the times, I suppose. Inventory is picking up but still low.
