Key to Happiness: Listen to Each Other, Spend Time with Friends, & Do Right by Others

I had an eventful and uneventful week. Sounds odd, I know. I surprised my friend for her birthday, and that was so fun. I owed this trip to us both because the last time she came to see me, I worked the whole time. She and I have been best friends since 8th grade, and it’s the easiest friendship. We just know and love each other so much. And, most importantly, we embrace all of our differences.

Anyway, we had a perfect weekend. She was happy to have me. We had great conversations. I really value conversation and diversity and learning about the whys and hows of others. I love the stimulation it offers. We can learn so much from each other if we just open up a dialogue.

Okay, that’s this week’s PSA out of the way.

Did you know that Oklahoma City has awesome thrift stores and the most amazing food? Nor did I. We ate such good food and too much of it, but, yes, please. Totally worth it. Also, it was primarily vegan/vegetarian. And it was still super.

On Tuesday night, I took some girlfriends to a Rockies game, and it was a great, lighthearted hangout. I love that.

Tag starts his new job soon and is taking a short backpacking trip between the end of the old job and the start of the new. I love me some, Tag. He’s such a great guy. I mean, I’ve always loved him, of course, but I know I take him for granted sometimes, and I don’t want to do that. I know I will again, but right now, I’m just noticing him so much, and he’s giving me all the butterflies. I think a lot of it has to do with our communication with each other and giving each other space. It’s not easy to master.

Okay, second PSA for the week. That one’s free.

I think my mom is coming out for the holidays (sans pups). I can’t believe it’s almost the holidays. How is it 90 degrees? I’m not ready for winter, but dude. 90 degrees?

My new website is almost done. I love it! Can’t wait till it’s complete. Listings en route. Details to come but can’t talk about them now.

See what I mean now? It was an eventful week with friends and family and connections, but not so much on other levels. I’ll take that all day long, though. I feel accomplished. I hope you guys do, too! Take care, see you soon!
