Ropes and to-do Lists

Ropes and to-do Lists

I climbed a rope yesterday. It felt like an accomplishment. And then I had the weirdest dream: I was at my high school reunion and I was really old and fat and my BFF from school wasn’t there until the very end and I had no friends. It was super uncomfortable. It was a nightmare.

I went to boarding school so our reunions are different because you don’t really see people from your town here and there periodically since people are from all over. Tag sees his buddies from high school all the time. I think it’d be kinda cool to have that but then there’s also the obligation to talk to a person you see in King Soops, a person you don’t know at all, but for the fact, you went to high school together. That’s always awkward. Especially if you’re not skilled in the ways of small-talker. I mean, after the initial “Hi, I-can’t-recall-your-name. How are you?” Where do you go from there? There’s, like, this odd conversation and it’s full of discomfort and unease.

Life’s too short for meaningless conversations. I’m gonna get deep here, but I’m feeling like I’m running out of time to do all the things I wanna do with my life. Know what I mean? I mean, sometimes a week goes by and I’m like, what did I do this week? I have no clue but the week is gone and not one thing is off my to-do list, how?

Speaking of life, we haven’t heard anything about whether we made it into the documentary. It’d be cool if it works out but it’ll be fine if not. Tag and I are busy not doing things on our to-do list so if it happens then great but no one will be disappointed if it doesn’t.

Spring is in the process of springing and we all know this as fact because ‘tis the season for self-tanner. I’ve started applying it and my glow is relentless. I always think that I don’t care if I’m tan until I get tan and then I’m like, being tan is really nice.

Tag and I started our forestry biz! I know, fast right? It’s called Sunrise Forestry and we did our first job quote together last week and it was great. We learned a lot and got our feet wet and hopefully they use us. I’ll let you know!

And We Have Two Getaways on The Horizon

  • My friend got us a free room in Vail for the weekend! Can. Not. Wait. There’s a pool so the kids can swim all day and I’m just hoping things will have that good, old-fashioned pre-COVID feel.
  • Tag and I are going to Moab with some close friends to do a full-day raft and full-day hike in Canyon Lands National Park while the in-laws keep the kids over Memorial Day weekend.
I’m looking forward to both!

Realtor® Stuff

I just got a great new listing that consists of two houses on one 5-acre lot. It would be an excellent place for an RV park, but I think we’re going to try selling it as residential or residential income. We’ll get some pictures taken and start the process soon, so I’ll keep you guys in the loop.

On another good note, I had closed the other day that defied time and space in quickness. It went crazy-fast. It was an FHA loan and the lender was totally on top of things, so we closed in less than three weeks. I’ll take that all day long.

On a more disappointing note, another land deal of mine was terminated. It’s sad news, but I’m okay. The buyer hadn’t seen the lot before making his offer, and when he did, he simply didn’t like it enough. So, yes, it’s a bummer, but it’s expensive to build in the mountains, so everyone needs to be totally prepared for that.

Over and out for this week, and looking forward to chatting next week! Stay safe. Be kind!
