Meditating and Goal-setting, a Sweet Mix

We have our virtual couple’s goal-setting retreat this weekend and we’re really excited about doing this together. Tag is hoping he won’t be called into work, then I guess I’ll be taking the couple’s retreat solo. First goal: do a couple of stuff as a couple.

A past semi-client (I helped with the paperwork of his For Sale By Owner) of mine moved to Spain. He lives in Polopos with views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and is a hop, skips, and jump from the ocean. He keeps sending me pictures and telling me about the food and what he doesn’t know is that the only thing keeping me from showing up on his doorstep unannounced is COVID. So, Adrian, here’s your warning: I’m showing up on your doorstep. ASAP.

My family just found out that my aunt has vascular dementia. It’s upsetting. It made me think about my mom living in South Carolina alone and her bi-annual trips to the ER. So, Tag and I talked with her about her moving here soon. We could build a garage with a suite on top and she could have her own space but we’d still have easy, everyday access to her.

My mom is a Realtor® also and we could even go into business together. I mean, working with family is tough, so maybe it wouldn’t work out in the end, but I’d give it a go.

Bridger’s birthday is coming up and we don’t know exactly what to do about it. We’re thinking of letting him have a few kids from school over for a sleepover. He’s about to be 10. That’s just so crazy. Double digits. I remember finding out I was pregnant with him like it was yesterday. I felt kind of sick, told Tag, went to the store and got some watercolor paint and a pregnancy test, and Tag and I painted pictures (which I still have), drank a PBR, and took the test.

I was only 25 and Tag was 23. Babies. But we talked it all out until the wee hours of the morning, got married six months later, and had the babe. My best decision-making has often come after drinking a PBR.

Well, to help me through all the chaos of this year and soon remote learning, I’ve been meditating in the mornings. I started about a few weeks ago. It’s been really great. I’m listening to Bob Proctor do a Mindvalley meditation. It’s such a soft, welcoming start to the day and only takes about 20 minutes. Highly recommend. We all deserve a soft start these days.

Colorado Real Estate Info

Tag and I are thinking about refinancing our house because we could save $200 a month, at almost a full percent off. It’s a good deal. However, we love working with our current bank, First Bank. It’s local and convenient and for every $10,000 we pay off, they’ll adjust the payment amount. If we refinance and go with someone else we won’t have any of that.

As some of you know I’ve been watching Megan Aller from First American Title do a Friday Market Update, well get this: in the greater Denver area (not downtown), home prices are up 17.5% year over year. If that means nothing to you, here’s the perspective: nationwide home prices generally go up 3% annually.

So, what’s this mean? If you’re waiting for foreclosures or some kind of deals to start happening during this recession, don’t hold your breath. It’s a lot different than the last recession. People have a lot of equity in their homes and interest rates are super low, so many of them will be able to find a way to survive through the recession through refinancing.

I have two homes to tell you about, neither of which are my listing, but if you want to purchase one of them, let’s do business!

  • In Pine at Elk Falls Ranch is a stunning home sitting on 2-acres and it’s gonna go fast folks. Coming in at under 700k, it’s a 4/3, with a detached 2-car garage that has a brand new rock-climbing wall inside (yes, high ceilings, too), and an attached 2-car garage, too. It also has terrific views and a walkout basement. I’d love to help get you in it!

  • First-time homebuyer property in Bailey coming up soon. It’s a cozy 2/1, with a roughed-in bath in the basement, too. Sitting just under an acre, it will cost you about $400,000.

Weekly Foothills Business Boost

I’m excited to help support the locals of Evergreen, Pine, Conifer, Bailey, and the surrounding areas to promote their business on my YouTube channel. If you’re interested, reach out to me. Here’s how it will go down:

  • I’ll take a video of you promoting your business.

  • I’ll send it to my editor

  • I’ll put it up on my YouTube channel, Facebook, and Instagram.

  • You get your business in front of more people.

I just filmed my first video with The Doggy Daycare in Evergreen, Mountain Parks Adventure Park, and Pet Lodge and it was a great success! At least I hope it will be, the video is in the hands of the editor now.

Make your life better

Every week through the holidays I’m going to discuss something to do with goal setting so we can all have the life we want.

Here’s the first:

Figure out your WHY. This needs to be more than just taking care of your family (not that that’s not huge and important and also a goal, but something for YOU). What’s something you’re passionate about? Something deep. What is something that would make you excited to get out of bed every morning? This is hard for me because honestly, I’m not super passionate and I’ve been digging deep to figure this one out. I think I got it though. I love entrepreneurs. I love people that have ideas, big goals, big dreams. I’m passionate about passionate people because I truly take it on, too.

I’m excited to talk with passionate people, people with bold intentions that strive and fight and work to get what they want.

I think one of the reasons I work so hard to succeed is so I can, one day, invest in passionate people and help them succeed.

Now, figure out your way so you can figure out the steps to get there. Where do you see yourself in 1, 5, 10 years? How are you going to get there? That’s what I want to help with over the next few weeks.

Have fun with this! It’s not supposed to be stressful, but enlightening. If you have a significant other, get them involved. Make sure you have the same or similar future in mind.

Be kind and I’ll see you here next week.

P.S. RIP Alex Trebeck!
