We Survived Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving happened, and we all lived to tell about it! The parents got along really well, and everything went off without a hitch! It was great to relax and laugh and eat and just take time off from the bustle.

Happy birthday to Bridger! He’s the big one one today. Party on Saturday with a sleepover and movie (Ghostbusters!). My dad will still be here, and he’s going too. I’m pretty excited for the whole day. But today we eat Subway because that’s the boy’s favorite!

I’ve been working on my new website, and I’m loving the direction it’s headed. I can’t wait to push it live in January (hopefully). And, I’ve made some progress with my assistant. We’re working on transitioning her into a buyer’s agent. Just trying to figure out the nature of that position and relationship.

Okay, get this. I was helping my USA-to-UK-back-to-USA friends out with finding a place to rent and coming up with exactly nothing. So, I decided to try my hand at a Nextdoor post, and within 10 minutes, I had a response from THEE most excellent woman.

We all went to check the place out, and when I tell you it’s perfect, it’s an understatement. It’s all falling into place and coming in at way under typical pricing but they fully understand they’re doing that and are happy to do it even. It’s just a HUGE break to catch! I’m so happy for ex-pats turned re-pats!

Well, it happened again. Ridge Road terminated. The buyers couldn’t get their home under contract, so it just didn’t work out. The same buyers still want it, but they’re not listing their house till spring. We had to put it back on the market, though, because we just can’t hold out that long.

We got a lot of interest this week about it and after three very interested parties, we went under contract with one again. Over list price too. Thank you very much.

There’s hardly anything on the market in the mountains right now. I just looked at Conifer, and there are EIGHT. That’s just crazy.

Remember we discussed Curbio in a previous post? I am not a fan. Well, we had a nightmare with them again. One of my clients got a broken refrigerator in their brand new house, and Curbio was supposed to come out to fix it prior to closing. Didn’t happen. Then we were assured it would happen just after closing by a person unqualified to make such promises. Didn’t happen. At this point, we’ve been closed for nearly two weeks, and my client still has no fridge. Can you imagine? No fridge during Thanksgiving?! I can barely imagine anything worse (excluding all the horrors of the world, of course.)

That’s not even the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that we need to sell her old house. But she can’t leave her old house until she has a fridge in her new house. I did some research and found her a fridge, but she didn’t want it because, well, it’s not the one she wants. I totally get that. Understandably, it’s frustrating for all of us. She’s pleased with my efforts to help, and that’s as good as it gets. But, Curbio, are you serious?

Realtor Advice

If you’re thinking of selling- do it. Now.

Okay, guys and gals, I’m headed to hang with the fam. I hope you all survived Thanksgiving and are fasting before more holiday celebrations that center around over-eating!
